op 20.08.2009 946 keer bezocht

McKinsey has just published their global survey ‘Leaders in the Crisis’ of over 1600 business leaders worldwide. 47 percent are C-level executives or corporate directors, 33 percent are senior executives, and 18 percent are middle managers.I give you a quick scan of the results.

Managing in Crisis: top managers are most satisfied, middle management feels the squeeze. They often get more responsibilities without the benefits. More than ever they are dissatisfied with their superiors and willing to leave for an other job.

The leaders most satisfied with their own performance spend 30% more time on motivating their teams. But often they fail to express genuine interest in other people’s lives but talk about the company’s values and financial peformance. Genuine interest of their bosses motivates people the most. In crisis good relationships with employees and stakeholders are valuable.

A lot of leaders are not looking to the long term and see their companies fail to set the business up again for growth, attracting, maintaining and developing talent.

So, even in crisis, it’s all about people…
