Districts of Creativity-regio Karnataka (India) nodigde beleidsmakers en clusterorganisaties uit de andere regio’s van het DC netwerk uit voor een vijfdaags bezoek. Doel van deze Reverse Mission is te tonen hoe zij als regio werken rond innovatie en creativiteit. Project manager Sara Pieters doet het verslag van de eerste dag in Karnataka.

In 2008 Baden-Württemberg (Germany) organised the first Reverse Mission on Creative Industries. This week Karnataka (India) is the host of the second Reverse Mission. The Reverse Mission wants to give policy makers and cluster organisations of the Districts of Creativity network the possibility to discover how creativity and innovation is stimulated in one of the DC member regions. Karnataka has given a special focus to cultural heritage of innovation and the modern innovation for this years mission. Representatives of Baden-Württemberg, Catalunya, Rhône-Alpes, Tampere and Flanders are taking part in the mission.

The first day was a showcase of several best practices ranging from innovation in technology to incubation from the industry side, innovation in health care sector and social entrepreneurship.
