On May 12th, the 2011 Future Summit was held in Dolce La Hulpe. Herman Konings, renowned Belgian trendwatcher, opened the event. For Herman the future is ROSA:
- Radical
- Open minded
- Social
- Appealing
Let’s have a look at 10 nice examples of radical, back to the roots, revivalism:
- Gardsbutiker: Local farmers in Zweden
- Noma: The best restaurant in the world known for its reinvention and interpretation of the Nordic Cuisine.
- Starbucks Seattle: Back to the local roots and local shops.
- Belorigine: Belorigine, a range of yoghurts, drinking yoghurts and desserts with delicious Belgium flavors, produced in Belgium. A brand created by, for and with Belgian consumers.
- Filliers: Jenevers with chocolat or cuberdon taste.
- Dagelijkse kost: Each day Jeroen Meeus prepares a dish with local ingredients. These receipts were bundled in a book. More than 125.000 books of this popular TV show were sold in only 10 days.
- Bob’s Your Uncle: Red wine brewed in… USA.
- Polaroid: Get away with all those digital cameras.
- V-luxe: The V-luxe is a high-end iPad accessory stand that makes it easier and more fun to watch movies or listen to music. It is made to look like a retro-styled television set.
- Boogie Board: Boogie Board, the tree-friendly alternative to memo pads, sketchbooks, sticky notes, dry erase boards and other writing/drawing mediums that can be re-used over 50,000 times!
