Is creativity innate? In which mood are we most creative? Do courses in creativity really boost our creative performance?

Expert or novice, we all have more or less profound beliefs about these questions. With so much being said and written in the media about creativity and innovation, it is hard to distinguish facts from fads. The last 50 years, however, a bulk of scientific research conducted by researchers all over the world, addressed these creativity-related issues.

The VIGOR Innovation Research Group conducts research on creativity and strives for the dissemination of its results to practice. In this workshop, Michaël Van Damme and Cédric Velghe will highlight some of our common beliefs on creativity. Through live experiments we will discover whether science confirms these beliefs or not. The objective of this workshop is to get you in touch with scientific results on creativity and give you insights in how this knowledge is gathered. Finally, you will learn how to incorporate this knowledge in your current experience and make better informed decisions on creativity.
