Identifying opportunities in clean technologies

The purpose of this report is to understand how “clean technology” entrepreneurs are able to identify and/or create opportunities despite the market challenges that were presented.
In order to answer this question, we first analyze why the challenges for clean technologies exist, and how they relate to the processes by which entrepreneurs identify or develop opportunities. In the end, our aim is to provide a framework and a set of tools that are based on a thorough review of the literature and a number of cases that should enable entrepreneurs and their supporting ecosystem to identify viable opportunities in clean technologies themselves.
To make this overarching research objective more concrete, we will focus our work on three main
research questions:
- What are clean technologies and what is their importance?
- What challenges do clean technologies face?
- How do entrepreneurs create value in a way that overcomes these challenges?
