As every year, Belgium is Design takes advantage of the unmissable Milan Design Week (7-13 April 2025) to promote Belgian Design internationally known for its refined luxury, creative functionality, artisanal savoir-faire, and boldness. 

For this 2025 edition, Belgium is Design is curating the exhibition WOVEN WHISPERS, which highlights a selection of Belgian talents specializing in textile design. As a nod to Belgium's rich textile past, the exhibition will bring together the innovative and delicate qualities of textile while highlighting the craftsmanship and innovation of Belgian talent.

Additionally, Belgium is Design will continue to promote all Belgian initiatives in Milan during the Design Week at Salone del Mobile and Fuorisalone through the Belgian Design Map.

For the exhibition, we are looking for textile products that are handmade or industrially manufactured, on a small or large scale, unique or mass-produced. These can be either decorative or functional. It can be a finished product that went into production in the past two years or a prototype that is just being launched.

What is innovative about your design? Where do you challenge the industry? And what innovation do you want to showcase with your design? This can be in the technique used, the material (or combination of materials) used, or in the design language. As long as it takes place within the textile sector. Tell us your textile story and help write the larger textile story of Belgium.

The exhibition will take place from 7 to 13 April 2025 in Milan. 

This call is open to designers and design studios headquartered in Belgium.

• Applicants may submit up to two projects (only one will be selected);

• The project (in production or prototype) must be less than 2 years old;

• The project must integrate innovations in terms of techniques, materials, and design, with an emphasis on sustainability and circularity;

• Motivation for international development.
