DRIVE Festival 2019

We invite you all to co-create DRIVE 2019! Do you have an innovative project or research that you want to get a place on the podium with? Learn more about what we are looking for below, and submit your proposal now!

On Thursday, 24 October 2019, CLICKNL organizes the sixth edition of the Design Research & Innovation Festival, DRIVE! On this day we put state-of-the-art research in the spotlight during the Dutch Design Week, and your innovative project or research can be part of it.

At DRIVE innovation managers and researchers share their latest R&D insights. On this day we focus on projects at the interface of good design and good research. Consider, for example, projects about seducing people towards a more sustainable lifestyle, designing buildings that support the well-being of people or developing new design methodologies entirely.

For the programme of DRIVE, we look at knowledge and learnings and take into account the themes that will weigh heavily in the coming years. That is why in 2019, we have chosen to use the mission themes from the Mission-driven Innovation Policy as a framework. Therefore we are mostly looking for inspiring and challenging innovation and research projects in the creative industry around the following topics:

  • Agriculture, water & food
  • Health & Health Care
  • Energy Transition & Sustainability
  • Security

The DRIVE 2019 program gives festivalgoers the option to compile their own program. Within each domain we strive for a mix of multiple presentations about research and innovation. We are looking for speakers from varying backgrounds: companies, design professionals and researchers of both universities and universities of applied sciences. The creative and critical DRIVE audience wants to be involved in interactive, short presentations. The spoken language is English.

Submit a proposal before 15 May

Submit your proposal for a presentation starting now via this link. The call closes on 15 May. Based on the input the DRIVE team will have the preliminary program completed on 15 June. Do you have questions about this call? Contact Marijke Idema via
