FASHIONCLASH presents Fashion My Religion! (FMR), the 10th edition of the international & interdisciplinary fashion festival in Maastricht. During this three-day festival over more than 100 emerging designers and (performing) artists from all over the world get the opportunity to show their work to a diverse, international audience. The multidisciplinary program contains fashion shows/presentations, exhibitions, installations, awards, fashion theatre and dance performances.
The Show (16 June)
The Show is a showcase for innovative designs and a game-changing new generation of designers, performers and artists. There is room for all kinds of styles of fashion design; from avant-garde and haute couture to street and sports styles, menswear and women’s wear. The Show takes place on Saturday June 16 in the SAM Decorfabriek and approximately thirty collections will be presented.
The scenography and direction of The Show will be designed and directed by Studio AKATAK. The overall approach to the presentation will be conceptual and performative, aiming to create unique experiences. All collections are presented within one overall concept, but within this each collection will have its own presentation.
If you are interested in participating in The Show, please keep in mind that the rehearsals and fittings will take place on Friday June 15. This means that you have to be present for two days. FASHIONCLASH determines the content and the order of the show. Applicants for The Show are not required to hold on to the festival theme Fashion My Religion! As a participant of The Show you will be automatically nominated for the FASHIONCLASH Festival Talent Award, a prize worth 1500 euro.
The participation fee depends on the number of outfits you’ll present.
The Route (15-17 June)
A new addition to this year’s festival is The Route. Marking the 10th edition of the festival and to give our visitors and participants a chance to explore Maastricht, this year’s events will take place at various (unusual) locations spread over the city such as churches, gyms, museums, shops, public space etc. All in walking distance, the Route is a multidisciplinary showcase of fashion in the broadest sense of the word.
The whole program is accessible to a broad audience and with The Route we aim to increase the synergy with the city and the audience. Activities can be visited individually and in random order. In addition, various guided tours will be organized to give the visitors the chance to experience the festivals content and dive in the variety of visions and expressions by new generation designers and artists. The Route is like a symbolic pilgrimage through the city of Maastricht.
Participation of The Route is free of charge.
