Participants Call: World Design Challenge Generation Equality
Addressing the issue of violence against women and girls, specifically in the Asia Pacific region, we are looking to mobilize design professionals from every region in an effort to brainstorm, research and ideate innovative solutions to these egregious realities faced daily.
UN Women offices in Asia and the Pacific and WDO have launched a World Design Challenge to create a global mobilization of design professionals in an effort to brainstorm, research and ideate innovative solutions to the egregious reality of violence against women and girls (VAWG).
Violence against women is learned, and can therefore be unlearned or prevented entirely. Focusing on the Asia Pacific region, this World Design Challenge will take place over 12 days from 10 – 21 August 2020 and will bring together volunteer workgroups from around the globe who will work remotely to address the most urgent factors of this issue.
We are looking for interested and passionate designers, as well as experts in the field of communications, science or professional research to form volunteer workgroups and collaborate remotely to address six predetermined factors of this issue.
Space is limited. Deadline to submit your expression of interest in this initiative is 3 August 2020.
