Digital Textile Innovation Intern

 

BAKERMAT is a platform that mixes innovative relations with textile suppliers and new cutting-edge digital solutions to offer fashion designers and brands a more transparent and efficient way to access materialsis. It is a symbiosis between a textile shop, a virtual fabric library and a material agency; a place where innovation, digitization and artistic creation meet. 

Bakermat is looking for a Digital Textiles Innovation that will focus on the digitization process of textiles. 

By digitizing fabrics, you will delve into the technical aspects of textiles, enhancing your understanding of material properties and gaining valuable insights into weaving techniques, dyeing processes, and other fabric-related aspects. 

You will also create exemplary garments to showcase digital materials in 3D prototyping software such as Clo3D and/or V-stitcher.
Additionally, you will conduct research into new innovations in the textile industry and assist in day-to-day tasks at Bakermat. 


Key Responsibilities

1. Digitization Process Support: 

  • Assist in digitizing textiles using software like Vizoo xTex. 
  • Familiarize yourself with 3D software, including Blender, for cloth simulation and experimentation. 

2. 3D Garment Development: 

  • Utilize VStitcher to implement digitized textiles into 3D virtual prototyping software. 
  • Develop prototypes and patterns with a focus on tailoring, transitioning from digital to physical. 

 

Overall Planning and Scope 

  • Learn about textile digitization and its applications in the fashion industry. 
  • Support in the digitization process of textiles using advanced software tools. 
  • Gain expertise in digitization techniques and understand the technical aspects of fabrics. 
  • Implement digitized textiles into virtual prototyping software and develop 3D garments across various categories. 

Qualifications 

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in relevant fields such as fashion design, textile engineering, or related disciplines. 
  • Proficiency in Adobe programs (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Microsoft Excel. 
  • Strong interest in digital innovation within the fashion industry. 
  • Good organizational and communication skills 
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
